Our Salt

The salt used at Float Shreveport is a blend of Dead Sea Salt and Epsom Salt.

Dead Sea Salt

The Dead Sea isn’t a sea at all - it’s actually a hypersaline

lake

The Dead Sea is known for its therapeutic properties, and people have traveled to its shores for centuries to soak in the salty, majestic waters. Dead Sea Salt is filled with natural healing elements that occur naturally in our bodies but are often lost as we go about our busy days. Soaking in water enriched with this salt is known to benefit the body from the inside out, treating skin conditions and improving internal processes.

Dead Sea Salt contains 21 minerals including magnesium, calcium, sulfur, bromide, iodine, sodium, zinc and potassium. These essential minerals naturally occur in our bodies but must be replenished, as they are lost throughout the day. These minerals are known to treat, detoxify, and cleanse our bodies.

The high mineral and salt content of the Dead Sea makes the water uninhabitable for fish and plants

With a depth of more than 1,200 ft. deep, the Dead Sea is the deepest hypersaline lake

on Earth

Epsom Salt

Epsom salt is great for your skin, hair and nails. Since it also acts as an exfoliant, you will find your skin is refreshed and extra smooth as you exit the float pool. It helps relieve joint pain, ease stress, and naturally relax the body.

The two key ingredients in epsom salt are magnesium and sulfates. Magnesium eases stress and improves sleep and concentration. It helps muscles and nerves function properly and reduces inflammation to relieve pain and muscle soreness. Sulfates flush toxins, improve absorption of nutrients, and can help ease migraine headaches.

Epsom salt also benefits those floating by helping to detoxify the body. It also provides the body with magnesium which is absorbed through the skin. Magnesium is an essential element to the human body in which adequate amounts are commonly not obtained from diet alone.
